Sketch of Classmates

This is a quick drawing I did during class in 204 of Chelsea, Hannah, and Ben.

Zach Getting Creative

I had a lot of fun doing these scale figure drawings. It helps a lot to have an interesting model. Zach modeled for all of my drawings. Originally, the poses were very normal with him reading a book and then Zach started getting really creative with the t-square and his jacket. I think Zach has a good future in modeling.

Scaled Figures

I tried to come up with my own style, something more abstract. It is a work in progress.

Drawing Style Practice

This is a view of the Ferguson Building on the UNC-G campus.  I tried out a different illustration style with lots of various forms of hatching.

Ferguson Thumbnails

At first I didn't realize that you could make these smaller so my first one took up nearly the whole page.

Drawings from Tate St. Coffee

I liked these because people watching is one of my favorite things to do. However, I do think that using pen here could have been more successful.

Scaled Figures

I found a brilliant photographer, Noah Bucher, that has a lot of really interesting candid shots of figures. I tried to get a good variety of poses as well as different kinds of people.

I had to put this photo in, because there is nothing in the world that I like to see more than an elderly couple. They make me smile.

Lettering

This is some lettering practice

First Shop Project

This was my second try at this project. I took inspiration from trees, so that the three vertical pieces are the tree trunks and the thinner horizontal pieces were the branches. I would have liked to have something more unpredictable happening, because I feel a lot of people in the class took a similar approach.
