Japanese Design

Isozaki Arata's Art Tower in Mito, Japan represents the modern skyscraper designs of Japan after WWII.

Typically in Japan design is very minimalist with clean lines. They also use a muted color palette except for some more bold accent colors used sparingly. Japanese designers also like to bring the outdoors inside by using a multitude of organic materials, and using more natural light through the sliding screen doors. The mild climate of this country allows Japanese homes to have thin walls.
